Being a carer, family member, carer or friend of someone living with mental distress isn’t easy and can be exhausting. While there can be many joys along the way,it can be a long, hard, isolating and often frightening road. In this course we learn about our emotional intelligence, what it is and how you can develop it further.By increasing our knowledge it is possible to bring further understanding into our lives and the lives of those we care for. This course is aimed at gaining insight, being involved in open discussion and hands-on activities.

This course runs weekly for four (4) sessions from 1:00-4:00 pm


There are 3 different levels for course fees.

• 1st session is Free if it is your first course at the Mind Recovery College™

• For students with a National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) package that includes centre based group activities, payment of course fees is expected to come out of your support package so mention this when enrolling. 

• For others this course is $242.88 for 4, three hour sessions

Whether it’s the loss of a loved one, a valued relationship or part of our identity, we all experience grief and loss in our lives.  During the course we will explore the cycle of grief and loss and how to be able to support yourself to work through it in a way that supports your wellbeing. The facilitators will draw on their own experiences in dealing with grief and loss to support you with your learning.
